The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees, to the extent of 75% in respect of loans given to SSIs without collateral security and/or third party guarantee up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh, by banks (and other lending institutions) which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As on 30 th April, 2006, 895 proposals for Rs. 21.85 crore were approved under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for the North Eastern States (including Sikkim).

   -

Twelve Seminars, three Workshop and five meetings on Credit Guarantee Scheme were attended /participated by CGTSI in the north eastern region (inducing Sikkim).

   - Setting up of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati.

(a) During the month, the Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has imparted training to 14 persons on Auto-CAD and 2 persons in Unigraphics.

(b) One student from Tripura is undergoing training in Integrated Course in Manufacturing Technology.

(c) CTTC Kolkata assisted Mini tool Room & Training Centre, Dimapur, Nagaland for installation of first phase of plant & machinery

SMALL INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION (SIDO)

The Indo Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur has

(a) conducted a vocational training programme on Auto CAD in which 18 persons were participated and

(b) developed library software “Aurum” for issue and return of books at IDTR library and for other general information.

The Central Tool Room, Ludhiana has started two short term training courses in advance CAD/CAM and CNC Machining and Auto CAD in which 11 persons are undergoing training. They have also completed two courses in Auto CAD and CNC Wire Cut in which 18 persons were trained

The Indo German Tool Room, Indore has conducted four short term training courses in CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Basic Course on Hydraulics and Certificate course in CAD/CAM etc. in which 9 persons were trained.

A delegation from Department of Atomic Energy visited Indo-German Tool Room, Indore to discuss the fabrication and supply of complete magnets for accelerator programme.

The Indo German Tool Room has made a successful trial against an import substitution device being developed for form fill and seal machine for a local SSI unit.

The Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has conducted four special training programmes on Pro Machanics, CATIA, Hypermesh & Ansys and Programming & Exposure to CMM machine for SSI units.

The Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Kolkata has conducted a training programme to upgrade the technical skills of the members of Baruipur Surgical Instrument Cluster.

The Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar completed three specialised short-term programmes for 56 persons and undertook 14 job works for 14 small-scale units.

The Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instrument (IDEMI), Mumbai completed ten training programmes for 95 persons and undertook 126 job works for 109 small scale units.

During the month, under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs. 6.10 crore have been disbursed to 1322 SSI units.

During the month, Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannuaj has organised

training programme on "Quality Assessment of Essential Oils /Aroma Chemicals using modern instrumental techniques".

workshops on " Aggarbatti, Dhoopbatti and Fragrance" in collaboration with UP Khadi & Village Industry Board, Lucknow in which 96 persons were participated including 20 women entrepreneurs.

Two Meetings were held in the Office of DC (SSI) with stakeholders on 3 rd April 2006 to discuss the various policy issues pertaining to Petrochemicals (including plastic products), organic chemicals, drug intermediates, mechanical engineering items, transport equipments, auto parts components, ancillaries etc. in SSI sector.

The issue regarding impact of the New National Policy on the SSI units in the petro chemical sector was also discussed during the meeting.

As announced in Budget 2006-07, a Notification duly vetted and approved by the Legislative Department along with Hindi version for de-reserving 180 items which kept reserved exclusively for manufacture in SSI sector has been sent for publication under Industries (Development & Regulation) Act, 1951to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion on 28.4.2006. .

    
 
  EVENTS  
   -

The SIDO participated in Hannover Messe – 06 (Germany) International Trade Fair during 24-28 April 2006 organised by Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), New Delhi. The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the Indian Pavilion. The Minister of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka also visited the SIDO stall. During the period 563 items were exhibited by 31 SSI units. Out of the 31 SSI units, representatives of 9 SSI units were also present during the fair. More than 2500 visitors visited the SIDO stall and 170 trade enquiries worth Rs. 30 crores were received by the participating SSI units during the fair.
