Activity Report of October 2005

  1. Indo- Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur, has
    (a) Conducted a vocational training programme for engineering students of Birla Institute of Technology, Sindri on Auto CAD from 3rd to 15th October 2005.
    (b) Executed an export order for manufacturing of 2 moulds for automobile switch cover.

  2. v Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Kolkata has
    (a) assigned the responsibility of establishing Common Facility Centre for surgical instruments cluster at Baruipur (West Bengal) and for this purpose feasibility studies have been carried out and detailed Project Report has been submitted.
    (b) (b) Undertaken the job of repair/ modification of inlet housing for engine starter of airbus 320 for Indian Airlines. Earlier the Airlines used to get the job done from Malaysia.

  3. Indo- German Tool Room,
    a) Ahmedabad has designed and manufactured mould with innovative design for M/s Ferromatic Milacron, Ahmedabad.
    b) Indore has established an Extension Centre at Branch SISI, Gwalior, in collaboration with SISI, Indore to increase its training activities and it was inaugurated on 21.10.2005 First batch of training on Auto CAD has been started with 10 participants
    (c) Aurangabad has conducted short-term training courses on Integrated Course in CAD/ CAM, Unigraphics, CNC Programming and machinining for Shegaon Engg. College in which 112 trainees had been trained during the month.

  4. Central Tool Room, Ludhiana has conducted a short term training course in CNC Turning and wire cut in which 3 trainees have been trained.

  5. Central institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has conducted shortterm courses in Design & Manufacture of Tools, Metrology & Inspection Services and CAD/ CAM/ CAE in which 118 trainees have been trained. During the month CITD Hyderabad also conducted a tailor made training programme of one-month duration in production Technology for M/s Vijay Electrical Limited, Hyderabad in which 19 participants were trained.

  6. Central Tool Room and Training Centre, Bhubaneshwar, has rectified moulds for chair and cooler cabinet for a SSI unit in Orissa.

  7. Under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs. 9.76 crores was reimbursed to 2026 SSI units upto October 2005. During the month 1011 cases for an amount of Rs. 4.84 crores have been reimbursed.

  8. Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 6 short-term training courses for 54 persons and undertook 12 job works of 12 small-scale units.

  9. During the month four Awareness / Motivational programme on ISO 9000/14001 have been conducted by field intuitions.

  11. Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instrument (IDEMI), Mumbai organsied 9 training programmes for 44 persons and undertook 35 job works of 18 small scale units.

  12. Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 2 short term and 1 long term training programmes for altogether 18 persons and undertook 5 job works of 5 small scale industries.

  13. During the month, 90 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 45 Motivational Campaigns and 24 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different states and altogether 6385 persons took part in the programmes.

Events

  1. SIDO participated in the "XXIIIrd Expocomer International Trade Fair" in Panama City, Panama, from 2nd March to 6th March 2005. 57 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.



  1. SIDO participated in the "Cairo International Fair" in Cairo, Egypt, from 15th March to 25th March 2005. 64 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.
