Indo-German Tool Room, Ahmedabad is a Govt. of India Society established with the technical and financial co-operation from Govt. of Federal Republic of Germany, under DC(MSME).

Main Objectives of the Tool Room
  1. Man power training in the fields of design and manufacturing of Tools & Moulds, allied trades and CNC technology.
  2. Design and production of jigs & fixtures, press tools, plastic moulds, die-casting dies, gauges preferably for the small scale industries.
  3. Providing advisory and consultancy services in the field of Tool Engineering.
  4. Providing facilities for precision and CNC machining.
  5. Providing heat-treatment and job facilities for chemical analysis and metallography.

Training Objectives:

Objectives are to conduct

- Industry based long term training for Tool & Die Makers.
- Short term training for Managers / Supervisors to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
- Need based technical training for skilled workers/tool makers/Machinist etc.
- Training for inspection, quality control, testing and maintenance
- Training in CNC Technology.
- Training in Heat Treatment, Hydraulics Pneumatics, EDM etc.
- HRD programmes for Tool-Room personnel

Criteria for admission

Candidate must have passed SSC examination from any recognised secondary examination board or its equivalent examination with English, Science and Mathematics as subjects and following minimum requirement will be applicable :

Diploma Programme : A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. (50% in case of reserved category candidates)

Certificate Course : A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. (40% in case of reserved category candidates)

Short Term Courses :

The short term courses have been designed to cater to the needs of small scale industries in upgrading the knowledge and skills. After completion of the course the participants will be able to perform work more effectively. The courses give opportunity to participants hands on experience in problem solving abilities. The participants are given opportunity to use the facilities of IGTR and the courses are conducted by the Tool Room personnel with experience in Tool & Die making.

Criteria for admission (Short Term Course) :

Completed ITI, diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Production, Plastics & related fields with or without experience. Preferably sponsored by the industry.

Note : Besides the above short term courses, the Tool Room undertake on need basis the requirements of any industry when minimum intake of the participants can be sponsored. The details will be worked out mutually with the sponsoring industry.

General Information

    1. Enrolment for Course : Enrolment form to be collected from Indo German Tool Room, Ahmedabad for the specific course and duly filled in form should reach atleast two days before the commencement of the respective course.

    2. Hostel Facility : Hostel facility is also available. Participants have to make a request for the same. The charges are Rs. 50/- day for lodging only Breakfast, tea, dinner, etc. can be had from the

      3. canteen if required against payment.

    3. Guest House : Air Conditioned Guest house facility is also available @Rs. 300/- day for boarding and lodging on request.
