Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad

The Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD) was established in 1968 by the Government of India with the assistance of UNDP and ILO. This is pioneering Institute in the field of Tool Engineering in the country. The Institute conducts long term and short term training programmes in Tool design, Tool Manufacture, CAD/CAM and Low Cost Automation techniques besides Manufacture of Tooling and providing consultancy services in these fields.

Location:

Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh is the fifth biggest city in India. The city of Hyderabad presents a rich cultural heritage and has many tourist attractions. Hyderabad is well connected by train and Air.

Facilities:

The Tool Room is equipped with sophisticated CNC machines supported by Precision Metrology Laboratory. In addition to the Tool Room, CITD has Design Department, Low Cost Automation Centre (LCA), CAD/CAM Centre with latest hardware and software, Library and Documentation Centre.

Training Programmes:

The institute conducts long term and short term training programmes for the benefit of the industry. The class room lectures are well supported by modern audio visual equipment. During the programme, factory visits are being arranged for practical exposure.

Note:- A stipend is paid for DTM students during the period of advanced training.

 

SHORT TERM COURSES:-

The institute conducts several short term training courses in the areas of Tool Design, Tool Manufacturing, Integrated CNC Programming, CAD/CAM and Low Cost Automation, on regular basis as well as for specific requirements of the industry.

Participants from many foreign countries have been participating in the following training programmes of the institute.
