Activity Report of March 2005

  1. Indo-German Tool Room, Aurangabad conducted short-term courses like CNC programming and machining, CNC Milling & Drilling Practice, Master Cad, Unigraphic, Pro-E for 41 trainees.



  2. Central Tool Room, Ludhiana conducted short-term courses for 22 trainees, in Conventional Milling, CNC Turning and Milling, Pro-Engineer.



  3. Indo-Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur has conducted training for 8 persons of Telcom, Jamshedpur on CNC Milling.



  4. Indo-German Tool Room, Indore has conducted short-term courses for 55 trainees on Post Diploma in CAD/CAM, Milling Practice, Manufacturing Process, CNC Technology and Pro-Engineer.



  5. Central Tool Room and Training Centre, Kolkata has received order for design and manufacturing of Banking Die for two-rupee coin for Government of India Mints.



  6. Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instruments (IDEMI), Mumbai organized 2 short-term training programmes for 20 persons and undertook 132 job works of 98 small-scale industries.



  7. Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 6 short-term training courses for 17 persons and undertook 17 job works of 17 small-scale units.



  8. Under Energy Conservation programme (Component Under Technology Upgradation Scheme) 4 Awareness cum Educational Workshop on Energy Conservation were conducted by SISIs.



  9. During the month, 50 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 30 Motivational Campaigns and 20 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different States, and altogether 5200 persons took part in the programmes.



  10. Under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs. 17.34 crore was reimbursed to 3316 SSI units during April 2004 - March 2005. During March 2005, 565 cases, for reimbursement of an amount of Rs. 2.86 crore have been processed. Further, 15 one-day and 6 four-day ISO 9000/14001 Awareness/ Motivational-cum-Educational programmes were organized by SISIs.



  11. A National Level Vendor Development Programme was conducted by SISI, Bangalore where around 100 nos. of small scale and large units had participated in promoting the trade linkages between them.



  12. 1st Global Cosmeneutrics Exhibition "LOOK 2005" has been conducted by SISI, Mumbai where SMEs of Cosmetic Trade had participated in the programme. SMEs from foreign origin has also been participated in the said programme and promoted trade linkages between Indian SMEs.



  13. A Vendor Development Programme was organized by SISI, Ranchi jointly with South Eastern Railway and Ancillary Association, Ranchi. 12 SSI units exhibit their products in the programme and 42 entrepreneurs from different SSI units participated in the exhibition.



  14. Rs. 4.5 lakh has been disbursed to 30 SSI units as subsidy for adoption of Bar Code from EAN India under SSI - MDA Scheme.



  15. 2 training programmes were conducted at Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre, Kannauj and 59 persons were trained.



  16. Under Technology Support Centres at Jhalawar, Dholpur, Behrampur and Patna, altogether 8 training courses were organized for 552 participants.



  17. 10 Awareness Programmes on IPR and 4 Awareness Programmes on Bio-Technology were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different States.



  18. 3 Sensitization Workshop on Geographical Indications were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different States.



Events

  1. SIDO participated in the "XXIIIrd Expocomer International Trade Fair" in Panama City, Panama, from 2nd March to 6th March 2005. 57 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.



  1. SIDO participated in the "Cairo International Fair" in Cairo, Egypt, from 15th March to 25th March 2005. 64 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.
