National Awards for Outstanding MSEs Entrepreneurs
National Award for Research and Development Effort in MSE Sector

National Awards for Quality Products in MSEs Sector

Objective:

These awards are given away to MSE entrepreneurs for encouraging and motivating them to set up small scale units to and to recognize their efforts to modernize their industries with a view to upgrading the quality of their produce, enhancing the productivity, increasing their share both in the domestic/ export markets, innovating new technology/design and bringing in technological improvements.

Year of launching:
1983

Methodology:
These awards are given for every calendar year on the basis of recommendation by the State/UT level Selection Committee and the final selection by the National Level Selection Committee.
The scheme envisages conferring-of three National Awards (First, Second, and Third) and one Special Recognition Award, for entrepreneur belonging to each State/UT. The first, second and third prizes each carry besides a trophy and certificate, a cash award of Rs25000/-, Rs.20000/- and Rs. 15000/- respectively. In 1993 a special prize at par with first National Award to honour an Outstanding woman entrepreneur and an Outstanding SC/ST entrepreneur was introduced. The Special Recognition Awards are given to an entrepreneur in each applicant State/UT, and carries besides a trophy and certificate, a cash prize of Rs. 10000/-.

Mode of availing the scheme:
Small Scale entrepreneurs whose units are permanently registered with the State Directorate of Industries and established within the preceding eight years from the year of the awards and is in continuous production since last four years before the year of award are eligible for awards. Applications in prescribed format are invited through advertisement in newspapers covering all the states/UTs. Applications are routed through Director of SISIs in each state.
The selection of the awardees is done through a two-tier selection system i.e. initial recommendation by the State/UT Level Selection Committee & the final selection by the National Level Selection Committee.

National Awards for Outstanding MSE Entrepreneurs

Objective:
The objectives of the Scheme are as follows:-

  1. To encourage small-scale industries to produce quality products conforming to national and international standards

  2. To propagate a culture of quality consciousness amongst a vast section of small scale manufacturing units and

  3. To instil a sense of confidence in small industry products with the domestic consumers and to enhance the image of Indian Products in export markets.

Year of launching:
1986.

Methodology:
These awards are given for every calendar year in each of select product group on the basis of recommendation by the State/UT Level Selection committee and the final selection by the National level Selection committee. The award consists of a trophy, a certificate and cash prize of Rs.25000/-for Quality product in each of the product groups (selected every year).

Mode of availing the scheme:
MSME permanently registered with the Directorate of Industries and in production for a minimum of four years proceeding the year of Awards are eligible for selection under this scheme .The applications of Award are invited through advertisement in newspapers and are routed through Director MSME in each state. The small scale units engaged in the production of quality products in included in Select Product Groups (Selected every year) are given an Award The selection of the awardees is done through a two tier selection system i.e. initial recommendation by the State/UT Level Selection Committee & the final selection by the National Level Selection Committee.

National Award for Research and Development Effort in MSE Sector

Objective:
The award is to be given to promote the concept of in house research and development efforts for strengthening technical soundness and promoting the spirit of innovation exhibited by the unit.

Year of Launching:
2001 for the Award year 1999.

Methodology:
The awards are given for the every calendar year. The Scheme envisages three awards (First, Second & Third) comprising of a certificate & Trophy. A Cash Prize of Rs. 25000/- 20000/- & 15000/- is also given for First, Second & third prize winners respectively.
The given award are on the basis of recommendation of State Level Selection Committee and the final selection by the National Level Awards Committee. .

Mode of Availing the Schemes:
MSME permanently registered with the state Directorate of Industries and which may be in continuous production for at least four years before the year of awards are eligible to apply for their demonstrable achievement of R & D efforts. Applications are invited in a prescribed format through advertisements in prominent newspapers covering all the states/UTs. The applications are routed through Director's of MSMEs in each state.

Selection of awardees is done by a two-tier system i.e. initially by recommendation of a State Level Selection Committee and finally by National Level Award Committee.
