1. IMPLEMENTATION OF MSMED ACT 2006
|
(i) DIPP has informed that on the issue of withdrawal
of S.O. 857 (E) dated 10 December, 1997 on equity
participation in SSI, a draft has been placed
before the Parliament.
(ii) Illustrative list of service
activities circulated to all States / UTs and MSMED.
(iii) All States / UTs requested to
file Entrepreneurs Memorandum (EM) online.
(iv) Entrepreneurial Memorandums (EMs)
of medium enterprises, as received from DIC / MSME-DIs
have been examined and based on this state-wise
information on filing of 14,730 EMs of Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises was prepared.
(v) State-wise information on filing
of EM was placed on the website of DC(MSME)

2.
IMPORTANT MEETINGS
|
A meeting of the Department Related Parliamentary Standing
Committee for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSME) was held on 14.11.07, at Parliament
House Annexe, to discuss problems of the MSMEs in the
textile sector.

3.
INTERNATIONAL DELEGATION
|
A delegation from Japan
visited office of AS&DC(MSME) on 22.11.2007. At
the meeting held with the officials of DC(MSME) the
following points were discussed:-
i) Feasibility of setting up tool rooms with the help
of Japan
ii) Possibilities of training the trainers in various
hi-tech fields.

4.
IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES
|
(i) Draft note for Cabinet
Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for extension of
Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS) for XIth
Plan period circulated
among concerned Ministries / Departments / Commissions
/ Councils for their views/comments.
(ii) Follow up has been initiated with
(a) DIPP for 14 cases of violation of reservation
policy.
(b) Director General, DGFT for violating
export norms

5.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
|
53 Skill
Development Programmes, 52 Entrepreneurship Development
Programmes, 41 Motivational Campaigns and 27 Management
Development Programmes were conducted
by field institutions and autonomous bodies in which
6712 persons were trained.

6. TECHNOLOGY UPGRADATION
|
(i) Autonomous bodies working under DC (MSME) provided
assistance in designing and manufacturing tools, metrology
and quality control services
to 34 small scale industries.
(ii) 193 jobs undertaken from 167 units by the autonomous
bodies under DC (MSME).
(iii) 130 samples were analyzed by Testing Laboratory
of and Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre, Kannuaj.
(iv) MSME Testing Centre and MSME Testing Stations have
altogether tested 15217 samples of 4078 units.

7. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR TECHNOLOGY UPGRADATION
& MODERNISATION
|
Under ISO 9000 Reimbursement Scheme an amount of Rs.
1.15 crore is being reimbursed to 307 MSME units.

8. NATIONAL FAIR/EXHIBITIONS ORGANIZED
|
(a) Office of the Development Commissioner
(MSME) organized a national exhibition for Micro, Small
and Medium Enterprises for the first time from 14-27
November 2007 during the India International Trade Fair,
2007 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The exhibition was
inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister (MSME). 105 MSME
entrepreneurs from 23 States/UTs participated with wide
product range. MSME pavilion was visited by around 5
lakh visitors including foreign buyers and 1500 business
enquiries with a total value of Rs. 20 crores were received.
(b) MSME-DI, Jaipur organized “Craft
India 2007” from 27.10.07 to 5.11.2007. In the
exhibition 160 stalls were put up and products in the
area of readymade garments, jewellery, electronics,
electrical, khadi, coir etc. were displayed.
(c) MSME-DI, Cuttack organized “Expo
Orissa – 2007” from 2.11.2007 to 6.11.2007
at Bhubaneswar. In the exhibition 267 stalls were put
up and products in the area of readymade garments, jewellery,
electronics, electrical, mechanical, leather, khadi,
coir etc. were displayed.
