IMPORTANT MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES



1. SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES OF OFFICE OF DC(MSME) DURING AUGUST, 2007

   IMPLEMENTATION OF MSMED ACT 2006

(i) Order No. 12/2006 dated 14.12.2006 received from CBDT for Section 23 of MSMED Act 2006 regarding “interest not to be allowed as deduction from income” has been informed to all Ministries/Departments, Secretary Industries/Directors of Industries/ States/UTs and all Associations of MSME.

(ii) A D.O letter No.2(10)/2007-MSME Policy dated 13.8.2007 has been issued to all States/Uts implementing scheme/programme such as “Udyog Bandhu” in Uttar Pradesh for the assistance of entrepreneurs in obtaining clearance/license/permit etc.

(iii) A D.O letter No.2(2)/2006-MSME Policy dated 29.8.2007 from Secretary, MSME to Chief Secretary, States/UTs has been issued regarding implementation of various provisions of MSMED Act 2006 with a request to issue Notifications as indicated in sub-paras.

2. IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES

The function of National Award for MSMEs was held on 30th August 2007 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi for giving away the Awards to the 111 Awardees. The Hon’ble Prime Minister gave away the awards to awardees who contributed outstanding performance in the field of

(i) Research & Development Efforts in Small Scale Industries (SSIs),

(ii) Small Scale Entrepreneurs, (iii) Women entrepreneurs,

(iv) ST/SC Entrepreneurs,

(v) Quality Products in SSIs,

(vi) Banks for Excellence contribution in the development of Micro and Small Enterprises,

(vii) Khadi & Village Industries and Coir Industries.

3. SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

98 Skill Development Programmes, 30 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 37 Motivational Campaigns and 11 Management Development Programmes were conducted by field institutions and autonomous bodies in which 6223 persons were trained.

4. TECHNOLOGY UPGRADATION

(i) Autonomous bodies working under DC (MSME) provided assistance in designing and manufacturing tools, metrology and inspection services to 28 small enterprises.

(ii) 227 samples of essential oils were analyzed by Flavour & Fragrance Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj and 173 Kg. material processed in pilot plant of the institute.

(iii) 168 jobs undertaken from 133 units by the autonomous bodies under DC(MSME).
