1. SSIGNIFICANT
ACTIVITIES OF OFFICE OF DC(MSME) DURING JULY, 2007
|
(i) Minutes of the 1st Meeting of
National Board for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
(NB-MSME) were circulated among members on 4 July
2007.
(ii) The 9th Meeting of NMCC was held
on 26 July 2007, where the main issue of discussion
was implementation of NMCP. Secretary (MSME) attended
this meeting.
(iii) A meeting to review the (a) Implementation
of Package for Promotion of Micro and Small Enterprises
(b) National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme
(NMCP) and (c) Implementation of schemes in the current
year was held on 26 July 2007 under the Chairmanship
of AS&DC (MSME).
(iv) A presentation was made before
Member Secretary, Planning Commission by a team of
officer’s lead by Secretary (MSME) in connection with
new schemes, NMCP and merger of REGP/PMRY on 27.7.2007.
(v) Comments were forwarded to Department
of Industrial Policy & Promotion, M/o Commerce
& Industry on the Draft Cabinet note for CCEA
on Manufacturing Investment Regions (MIRs)

2. IIMPORTANT ACTIVITIES
|
A meeting of the Department Related
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry was held
on 18th July 2007 in Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi
regarding ‘New Items and New Suppliers to Indian Railways
from SME Sector’. The meeting was attended by Secretary
(MSME) and other senior officers of the Ministry. |
3. SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
|
(i) 53 Skill Development Programmes,
27 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 45 Motivational
Campaigns and 11 Management Development Programmes were
conducted by field institutions and autonomous bodies
in which 8184 persons including 13 overseas participants
were trained.
(ii) An Memorandum of Agreement has been
signed by Secretary (MSME) and Secretary (Overseas Indian
Affairs) for conducting Skill Development Programmes
for emigrant Indian workers by MSME-Development Institutes |
4. TECHNOLOGY UPGRADATION
|
(i) Autonomous bodies working
under MSME-DO provided assistance in designing and manufacturing
tools, metrology and inspection services to 36 small
enterprises.
(ii) 261 samples of essential oils were
analyzed by Flavour & Fragrance Development Centre
(FFDC), Kannauj

5. EXPORT ASSISTANCE
TO MEDIUM AND SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES
|
(i) Four Micro Small Enterprises
(MSEs) from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chattishgarh
participated in the 22nd International Exhibition for
Machine Tools & Machinery (EMAQH) Fair at Buenos
Aires from 13-18 July 2007. They attracted 29 trade
enquiries of the value of 11.6 USD million.
(ii) Seven Micro Small Enterprises (MSEs) from Maharashtra,
Rajastahn, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Kerala participated
in the South Africa’s Big Seven Exhibition at
Gallagher Estate, Midrand, Johannesburg from 15-17 July
2007. They attracted 32 trade enquiries of the value
of 1,15,000 USD. |
