Project SENET bags Golden Icon Award

SENET bags the Golden Icon award for the "Best documented resource and case study" in the Professional category. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances recognizes excellence in implementing e-Governance initiatives in an exemplary manner to Organizations and Institutions, through these awards.
The award was received by Mr. G. R. Akadas, Deputy Director, SENET on behalf of Ministry of SSI, GOI at a glittering function in Bhubneshwar on Feb. 03, 2005.

  NORTH EAST REGION

The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees, to the extent of 75% in respect of loans given to SSIs without collateral security and/or third party guarantee up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh, by banks (and other lending institutions) which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As on 31st August 2005, 698 proposals for Rs. 16.38 Crore were approved under the Credit Guarantee Scheme from the North Eastern States (including Sikkim).

   -

12 Seminars and 3 workshops on Credit Guarantee Scheme were attended/participated by CGTSI in the North-Eastern Region (including Sikkim).

Setting up of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati.

   -

During the month the Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has conducted 2 short term training courses on CNC technology and Auto CAD in which 3 persons were trained

24th meeting of High Powered committee was held on 30th August under the chairmanship of Secretary(SSI & ARI). Two proposals for setting up of IID centers at Kirumphera, Distt. Kohima, Nagaland and Govindsar, Distt. Kathua, J&K have been approved.

SIDO participated in the "DIY SHOW" in Chiba, Japan from 25th August to 27th September 2005. 21 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.

SIDO participated in the "XXIIIrd Expocomer International Trade Fair" in Panama City, Panama, from 2nd March to 6th March 2005. 57 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.

SIDO participated in the "Cairo International Fair" in Cairo, Egypt, from 15th March to 25th March 2005. 64 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products.
