MSME-DO Network

  1. Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneshwar has conducted an Awareness Programme on ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System for SSI units on 6.11.2004 in which 19 members participated.

  2. Indo-Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur has participated in the Indian International Trade Fair held at New Delhi from 14 - 27 Nov. 2004.

  3. Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has conducted an Integrated Course in manufacturing technology and trained six trainees.

  4. Central Institute of Hand Tools, Jallandhar has provided common facility services to 103 small-scale units and 1 large -scale unit.

  5. Indo- German Tool Room, Indore has conducted various courses on Auto CAD, CNC Milling and Turning, one year Condensed Course in Tool & Die Making & Basic course in Pneumatic & Hydraulics through which 40 persons were trained.

  6. Indo- German Tool Room Aurangabad has conducted various courses like, Auto CAD, Unigraphics, Catia, Integrated course in Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), through which 18 persons were trained.

  7. Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD), Hyderabad has conducted a training programme on Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing from 29th - 30th November 2004 in which 19 participants from various Government organizations and private industries participated.

  8. Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has conducted training programmes in CAD/CAM, Programmable Logic Control Systems, 3D Modelling and Advanced FINITE ELEMENT METHODS (FEM), in which 15 participants from Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Philippines and Thailand participated.

  9. Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has also signed an MoU with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay for preparation of drawings of Hydraulic Manipulator and its Valves.

  10. 110 job works of 71 Small Scale Industries were undertaken by Institute

    1. for Design of Electrical Measuring Instruments (IDEMI), Mumbai.

  11. Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instruments (IDEMI), Mumbai organised one short-term training programme in which 13 persons were trained.

  12. 3 job works of 3 small-scale industries were undertaken by Electronics Service& Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar,Uttaranchal.

  13. Electronics Service & Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 2 short-term and one long term training courses and trained 18 persons.

  14. During the month, 170 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 70 Motivational Campaigns, 52 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the field Institutions spread throughout the country in different States and altogether 15700 persons were participated.

  15. Under ISO 9000/14001 reimbursement scheme, during the month the cases of 505 units are under process for reimbursement involving an amount of Rs. 2.59 crores.

  16. Rs. 50,000/- have been released to FISME, New Delhi as full and final payment under SSI - Marketing Development Assistance Scheme for printing of 200 copies of study report on "WTO Negotiations and Indian Small Scale Industries by Federation of Indian Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) and Research and Information System for the non -aligned and other developing countries (RIS)" .


  1. One day Workshop-cum-Interactive Session on Ozone Depleting Substances (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 and Amendment Rules 2001, 2003 was organized on 23rd November 2004 for SISI Officials by SISI, New Delhi in association with Project Management Unit (PMU) of Ozone Cell, Ministry of Environment and Forests at Chandiwala Estate, Okhla, New Delhi. 24 SISI officials were participated in the said programme.

  2. The Ministry of SSI in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries organized India Global Summit on SMEs 2004 on 23rd & 24th of November, 2004, at New Delhi. Sh. Mahavir Prasad, Hon'ble Minister for Small Scale Industries addressed the summit. Sh. Anupam Dasgupta, Secretary, Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Sh. Suresh Chandra, Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (Small scale Industries) also addressed the elite gathering on the occasions. The summit was attended by foreign delegates from 25 countries apart from Indian SMEs.

  3. EAN India, the organization entrusted with the work of Bar Coading regulations in India, organised a Conference-cum-Exhibition on "Electronic Product Code and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device)" on 8th & 9th November 2004 at New Delhi. The Conference-cum-Exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Secretary Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Sh. Rabi Mathur addressed the gathering. Three technical cum business session were organized during the conference.

  4. Office of DC (SSI) participated in Aapex show at Las Vegas, USA during 2 - 5 November 2004 in which exhibits of 26 SSI units were displayed in MSME-DO pavilion. 81 Trade inquiries for a value of about USD 2.5 million have been received. Representatives from 3 SSI units also participated in the said fair.

  5. MSME-DO participated in the "Bahrain Consumer Products Fair" in Manama, Bahrain, from 28th November to 7th December 2004. 28 participants from small-scale sector participated in the fair by displaying their products

  • A delegation from Amajuba District Municipality, South Africa led by its Mayor comprising the following Members visited this office on 19th November, 2004:-

    9. Mr. Ivan Schotz, Manager, Planning Implementation Manangement Support (PIMS)
    10. Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Joint Development Commissioner discussed the issues relating to policies, schemes and development of SSI sector in India with them after a short presentation on the activities of the Ministry of Small Scale Industries

  • A delegation from Ministry of Industry, Syrian Arab Republic visited this office on 22nd November 2004 to discuss the policies, schemes and development of SSI sector in India. The delegation comprised the following team members:

    1. Eng. (Ms.) Waffaa Atfa, Director, Industrial Sector, Ministry of Industry.
    2. Ms. Nadia Okar, Head, EU Cooperation Directorate, Ministry of Industry.
    3. Eng. (Mr.) Ayman Abdul Nour, Expert, Ministry of Industry.
    4. Ms. Manisha Shridhar, Joint Development Commissioner discussed the issues with them and made a short presentations on the activities of the Ministry of Small Scale Industries.
